Aadhaar is not compulsory as yet for bank transactions and other services. However, to use LPG, Bank, PAN, Tax etc after the end of March 2018, authorities have made Aadhaar linking with these accounts mandatory.

Here we detail the solution provided by UIDAI for errors in Aadhaar card as well as the procedure for those who are not using Aadhaar for three continuous years, to avoid deactivation. All you have to do is update the details with the services provided by UIDAI.
UIDAI has come up with three ways to update Aadhaar details. Here's how to do it:
Updating Aadhaar demographics details (Name, Address, DoB, Gender, Mobile & Email) on UIDAI website is simple and can be done within few clicks. To get this process done online, the user has to have a valid mobile number registered with Aadhaar. Since online transactions are OTP authenticated, registering mobile number with Aadhaar is mandatory.
Visit Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal(SSUP) and Login with your Aadhaar number and verification code as mentioned.
Submit your Aadhaar holder’s requisite demographic (Name, Address, DoB, Gender, Mobile & Email) changes.
Now, scan and upload the supporting self-attested Proof of Identity documents(soft copy) for the necessary corrections.
After submission of demographics changes request, the portal generates Aadhaar card Update Request Number(URN), that is helpful to track the status.
Finally, you can check the status online.
This is another option to register users mobile number with Aadhaar. It is as simple as filling up the hard copy and updating by post service.

Print-out a hard copy of the form and fill up the necessary details.
Attach the self-attested proof of documents(hard copy) and Post to any of the following Addresses.

Visiting nearby enrolment centers can be another option for updating Aadhaar details. Here, user can update demographics as well as biometrics (Finger Print, Iris, and Photograph). Users need to carry original documents to get scanned and uploaded for proof of identity.
However, if you are visiting enrolment center then it will cost you Rs.25 each time you get your details updated.
